Exchange Configuration

Previous  Next |  Direct link to this topic

Exchange configuration can be set up to use either modern authentication or basic authentication. Please note that Microsoft no longer support basic authentication on Office 365 Cloud.

Limitations:

NB. Multi-factor authentication enabled accounts are not supported for Server Component usage. Multi-factor authentication is only possible to use together with the Personal Exchange Option in the B1 client.

Authentication method

Description

Modern

Modern authentication is the more secure of the 2 ways Print and Delivery can communicate Microsoft Exchange. This also makes the setup of Modern authentication exchange connection more complicated as it requires an App in Azure Active Directory (how to setup app in Azure active directory)

The Client and Tenant id needs to be filled in order for the exchange configuration to work and can be found in the required app for a modern authentication flow

To change the user credentials an exchange configuration you can double click and in the credentials column to open the change credentials window.

NB: A modern authentication setup will only work with an Office365 Exchange and not with on premise

NB: It is not possible to specify a custom "From mail" in modern authentication (it will always use the mail used in credentials)

Basic (Legacy)

NB (Legacy): Microsoft no longer supports Microsoft Exchange via basic username/password authentication on Office 365 cloud. These settings will only work in On-Premise Exchange setups.

Basic authentication is the simple and less secure way of the two ways Print and Delivery can communicate Microsoft Exchange.

The server field needs to point to the ASMX URL of your exchange server and you need to select the correct exchange version.

Tip: ASMX for Office 365 is https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx
